Partnered with Integrity Advocate since 2019 to modernize safety training

When safety training can mean the difference between life and death, there’s no room for shortcuts. For over 60 years, Alliance Safety Council (ASC) has set the standard for high-risk workforce training, ensuring every program is legally defensible and fully compliant.

Traditionally, ASC required in-person, proctored training to verify identities and monitor sessions for compliance. But as demand for remote training grew, they needed a solution that maintained the integrity of their process—without the logistical headaches.

That’s when ASC partnered with Integrity Advocate.

Key Outcomes

  • Reduced travel and costs – Participants can now complete training from anywhere, lowering expenses for both ASC and its clients.
  • Improved access and scalability – Integrity Advocate’s mobile-friendly system ensures contractors can train on-site or remotely during outages and unplanned events.
  • Maintained legal integrity – With identity verification and participation monitoring in place, ASC can confidently provide legally defensible training records.
  • Lower environmental impact – Fewer miles traveled means a lower carbon footprint for participants.

“We’ve never felt alone on this journey. Integrity Advocate’s expertise and commitment have been with us every step of the way.”

Meagan Kohls, Senior Manager, Alliance Safety Council

Challenge

Alliance Safety Council serves high-risk industries like petrochemical, power generation and manufacturing, where compliance isn’t optional—it’s essential.

To maintain legally defensible training records, ASC historically relied on in-person, proctored training. Every participant underwent identity verification and close monitoring, allowing ASC to serve as an impartial third-party administrator for its clients.

However, as demand for greater flexibility grew, the limitations of in-person training became impossible to ignore:

  • High costs & travel requirements. Workers had to take time off and travel to testing centers, creating unnecessary barriers.
  • Security & verification challenges. Moving online risked losing the third-party oversight ASC relied on for compliance and legal defensibility.
  • Limited online proctoring options. Most solutions required software installations, failed security protocols and introduced IT headaches for enterprise clients.

“Traditionally, all of our training was delivered through a training lab,” says Meagan Kohls. “People had to come to our physical locations to have their ID and background checked. We had to make sure we had a true identity and proctor them through that training so they weren’t using external resources, taking notes, or sharing test questions.”

ASC needed a scalable, secure online proctoring solution that could match the integrity of their in-person process without adding complexity for learners. Beyond technology, ASC needed a partner who understood their challenges and could adapt alongside them.

“We didn’t want to just be a customer of a software solution,” Kohls emphasized. “We needed someone who had the level of patience and interest to come along on this road with us.”

Solution

In 2019, Alliance Safety Council found the perfect partner in Integrity Advocate—a mobile-friendly, compliance-focused proctoring solution that met ASC’s needs without the complexities of traditional proctoring systems.

“As soon as we met Integrity Advocate, we knew they’d already solved it,” says Kohls. “It didn’t require software downloads or let software take control of a device—both dealbreakers for our larger enterprise customers.”

Integrity Advocate checked every box: no installations, mobile accessibility and a compliance-first approach aligned with ASC’s strict standards.

  • No software installation – Integrity Advocate works without software downloads, installations or browser plug-ins, avoiding IT roadblocks.
  • Mobile compatibility – Integrity Advocate works seamlessly across devices, including tablets and mobile phones, offering unmatched flexibility.
  • Identity verification and participation monitoring – Integrity Advocate uses human review to ensure meet ASC’s legal defensibility requirements.
  • Scalable and reliable – Integrity Advocate adapts easily to the changing needs, rule sets and training volumes of ASC and its clients.

“This wasn’t something we wanted to build ourselves,” Kohls says. “But reducing travel risks, making training more efficient and cost-effective, and prioritizing environmental responsibility was the right move.”

Results

With Integrity Advocate as a proctoring partner, Alliance Safety Council has redefined how high-risk workforce training is delivered—expanding access while maintaining the highest compliance standards.

With mobile-friendly proctoring, legally defensible verification and a trusted partner by their side, ASC has:

  • Eliminated travel barriers – Training is now accessible from anywhere, reducing time off work and operational costs, as well as reducing carbon footprint for participants.
  • Ensured continuous training – Workers can complete training on-site or remotely, even during outages and unplanned events.
  • Strengthened compliance – Identity verification and participation monitoring keep training records legally defensible.

A Partnership Built on Trust

Proper training protects lives, prevents accidents and ensures workers in high-risk industries are fully prepared for their jobs. That’s why finding the right partner matters—safety training isn’t just about meeting requirements; it’s about trusting that every worker has the skills they need to stay safe on the job.

For Alliance Safety Council, that partner was Integrity Advocate.

“They’ve gone above and beyond to help us educate our customers,” says Kohls. “There’s no other vendor that would fly from Canada to South Louisiana to host a lunch-and-learn for 30 people. That’s because we’re more than just a customer to them, and they’re more than just a vendor to us.”

As workforce training evolves, Alliance Safety Council and Integrity Advocate continue to set the standard, ensuring safety programs meet the highest benchmarks for reliability, compliance and real-world impact.
